Britwell’s Bumper Summer!

31 August 2022

Young people are engaged in some amazing activities at Britwell Youth and Community Project in Slough. We caught up with Qudsia to learn about the summer fun they’ve had.

BYCP’s Summer Holiday Club kicked off on Monday 25 July for a four-week period, coming to an end on Friday 19 August. The holiday club was open from 11am – 3pm daily, Monday – Friday, with over 50 young people in attendance every day.

There was a wide variety of activities on offer, including: football, trampolining, basketball, arts and crafts, video games and IT, which were thoroughly enjoyed by all.

This year was the first summer holiday club which was run alongside the HAF programming offered through Slough Borough Council. Young people who were eligible for free school meals were offered a hot meal every day, Monday – Thursday.

HAF programming also gave young people the chance to participate in some unique activities, including: Birds of Prey – giving young people the chance to learn, see and even touch different bird species. Fizz Pop Science was another activity which helped young people use their thinking caps all whilst getting their hands a little slimy and gooey while conducting experiments!

The Summer Holiday Club saw the registration of many new club members who happily came back for Tuesday / Thursday evening club sessions as well.
