Do Your DofE with Berkshire Youth!

29 September 2022

Why do the DofE?
For the hundreds of thousands of young people who take part each year, the benefits of achieving a DofE Award at any level are endless. DofE is about helping you along the path to a productive and prosperous future. As many of our participants say, it’s life-changing!

Achieving an award will give you skills, confidence and an edge over others when you apply for college, university or a job. Beyond your academic achievements, universities want to see evidence of so called ‘soft skills’ that you have developed through extra-curricular activities, such as communication, commitment, leadership and teamwork. Your DofE Award is a fantastic way to demonstrate and evidence these skills in practice.

You’ll also make a difference to other people’s lives and your community, be fitter and healthier, make new friends and have memories to last you a lifetime. Our participants also tell us that doing their DofE gives them character traits like confidence and resilience which can boost their mental health and wellbeing, and help them face and overcome personal challenges.

Berkshire Youth is an open DofE provider who offer access to DofE programmes. Our support and guidance is done virtually, so there is no need to attend weekly sessions; you can just get started with your programme!

You will use eDofE (our online system) to track your progress through your Bronze, Silver or Gold programmes. The team at Berkshire Youth will ensure you have all the knowledge and expertise to independently complete your programme and achieve your DofE Award.

We have supported dozens of young people to achieve their Bronze, Silver and Gold awards, with a total of 58 awards achieved between 2020 and 2022; with seven Bronze, four Silver and one Gold Certificates of Achievement.  Our participants have completed an amazing total of 1,079 volunteering hours, equating to a value of £4,984.98.
