Paige’s Progress
8 February 2021
Well… it’s looking like this year is going to be a different one again, but the main thing is to keep positive!
Towards the end of last year, I began a Future Leaders Qualification – a nationally recognised award in Leadership and Management – which will allow me to further develop my awareness of what a manager does and how to lead a team of other individuals. The qualification covers a range of different topics including: time management, self-awareness, finance, bidding/funding, interpersonal skills, managing others, conflict and many more!
Throughout the year, I have sessions booked in to work on this course with a group of other professionals and the aim is to finish by January 2022. So far, the course is going really well and I am learning lots of things about myself and other people; with the second assignment deadline approaching quickly, I need to focus on getting things wrapped up and finalised!
I also hope that in the not so distant future, sessions will be able to start back up again. I am really looking forward to getting back to The Wayz, delivering youth work to young people and continuing to positively impact the local community.
I have been taking full advantage of the opportunities to build on my knowledge and have completed lots of different courses, including:
- Psychological First Aid
- Mental Health
- Internet Safety & Spearphishing
- ACES
- Children & Young People’s Participation (Open University)
- Supporting Children & Young People’s Well-Being (Open University)
- Making Sense of Mental Health Problems (Open University)
- Active, Healthy Lifestyles (Open University)
- Young People’s Well-Being (Open University)
- Listening to Young Children – Supporting Transition (Open University)
All of these different opportunities have allowed me to create a school programme which will be introduced to Bracknell primary schools in the near future.
