Supporter Focus

29 September 2022

It’s been another busy month for our incredible supporters. This month we would particularly like to highlight the following:

Lifecycle Software – the terrific team have chosen Berkshire Youth, and specifically Waterside Centre, as their charity of the year. This weekend, they are trying to complete as many miles as possible by whatever means they can, along with family and friends.

Kelvin Chaffer, Lifecycle Software Chief Operating Officer, told us more: “Family and friendship are the core values of Lifecycle, we want our company to be a place where people can grow their potential. We have a graduate and apprenticeship programme that is helping to progress the next generation of telecoms professionals, providing them with the confidence and skills to pursue a fulfilling career in IT. We have seen how Berkshire Youth do a fantastic job of working with young people to facilitate their growth to help them reach their potential and beyond. This London Marathon weekend, the Lifecycle team (with the help of their friends and families) will be trying to cover as many miles as possible to raise money to support Berkshire Youth’s Waterside Centre. Our aim this year is to raise £2,000 so that Berkshire Youth can purchase some new Zorbs to help build confidence in the young people they support, whilst having fun.”

Here is their JustGiving page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/lifecycle-software-2022.

Listen in to Katie Tyler’s show on BBC Radio Berkshire tomorrow (Friday 30 September) at approx. 7.20pm to hear them talking about this amazing challenge!

Pangbourne Youth FC (pictured) – earlier this week, Kelly was delighted to meet all of the brilliant players who helped to raise an incredible £1,462.79 for us last season! They have also confirmed that they will support us this season too, which is absolutely amazing news!

Rotary Club of Reading Abbey – thank you again to this brilliant local club for choosing Berkshire Youth as their charity to support through their Englefield 10k event on 28 August. Ivan and Omar (from our fantastic partner, Thames Valley Boxing Club) took part in the 10k event. There was also a youth event, and Kelly enjoyed meeting and interacting with the young people and their adults who attended and took part in the events.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donates their time and money to supporting our work with Berkshire’s young people. Thank you all so much!
