Team News

30 January 2023

We’re delighted to welcome two new members to the team:

Kerrie
In December, we were delighted to welcome Kerrie Hiscock to the team as our new Youth Development and Community Engagement Worker.

We caught up with Kerrie to learn a little more about her:

“I have always had a passion for working with young people and giving them opportunities that they may otherwise not have had. Previously, I worked for a national children’s charity helping to empower young people and ensure their voices were heard. Watching young people take a lead and grow in confidence is really rewarding and I often feel honoured that I’m able to be part of a young person’s journey.

“Having grown up in Berkshire myself and now having two teenagers at local schools, I am keen to support our local young people. During my time with Berkshire Youth, I look forward to helping young people grow their skills, knowledge and confidence, as well as having lots of fun and new experiences.

“I’m also looking forward to promoting Berkshire Youth to the wider community, growing local engagement and looking for opportunities to develop our programmes. “

Eliza
We would also like to welcome Eliza Candler to the team. Eliza is on placement with Karen Dynan, our Training and Volunteer Manager, for one day a week for the next three months. She is a second year undergraduate student of Education Studies at the University of Reading.

Eliza said: “I will be helping Karen and other members of the team in various tasks and youth groups. I’m hoping to learn more about what it means to be a youth worker, and gain some experience and confidence in the area. Hopefully by the end of my placement I’ll have more of an idea of what I want to do with my degree and career path!”

Sarah
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Sarah for 17 amazing years – and counting – at Berkshire Youth. Read more here.
