Thames Valley Community Sport Audit

15 February 2022

Call for all local organisations to take part in this important survey!

Please access the survey here.

About this survey

Working with the Thames Valley Violence Reduction Unit (VRU), StreetGames is looking to connect voluntary and community sports sector partners on community-led intelligence which will be used to inform strategic decision making within the Thames Valley.

They are asking organisations to complete a short survey which should take no more than a few minutes.

The survey,  which closes on Monday 28 February, aims to capture regular weekly provision that will be delivered to children and young people from 1 April 2022 onwards.

Who should take part in this survey?

Organisations working in any sector across Thames Valley, regularly delivering sport and/or physical activity, on behalf of, or for the benefit of children and young people aged 10-25 years old, who may be deemed vulnerable and at an increased risk due to a wide range of individual, relationship, community, or society level factors, they would like to hear from you.

These risk factors are varied in nature and can affect children and young people at primary (universal, open access), secondary (early intervention, targeted work for those at risk), and tertiary (CYP currently offending or at risk of reoffending) levels of practice.

Why is this needed?

The data will map current provision and this intelligence will be used to inform and develop a more diverse offer in supporting the VRU, with its ambition of using sport as a positive diversionary driver when it comes to crime and anti-social behaviour and developing community-led initiatives.

They intend to feedback the findings to the community sport network, providing the opportunity for all that contributed to the survey to validate the findings and explore how these can be used to inform practice and support the delivery of objectives at a local, regional, and national level.

Do you deliver more than one session?

In order for us to map this data, they require a single survey entry per session you deliver. Please submit this survey once for every individual session that is being delivered as this will allow the specific details attributed to that session to be captured. (To save you time, details about your organisation and contact details will auto fill for all subsequent surveys you complete).

By providing these details, you are agreeing to share general information regarding your sports sessions which may be shared more widely to advocate for the role that sport, and physical activity plays in the prevention of youth violence. Your name and contact details will not be included in the mapping resource or shared outside of StreetGames and/or VRU without seeking your permission.

You can view StreetGames privacy policy here.

If you have any further questions on how to complete the survey please email Claire at StreetGames

Please complete by 28 February.
