The Wayz – April 2023

It’s been another busy month at The Wayz!
Easter Day Camps
The team ran a successful Easter Day Camps programme and 13 – 17 Programme, with lots of activities for young people to enjoy.
May Half Term Camps (ages 8 – 12 years)
Bookings are now being taken for the May Half Term Day Camps, for ages 8 – 12 years, running 8.30am – 5pm, 30 May – 2 June. Bookings can be for a single day or all four days for that week. Book the full week for £75, but if booked before May 19, there is a £5 discount for booking all four days.
Activities throughout the week will be:
- Tuesday 30 May – Introductions and Team Building – £20 for the day
- Wednesday 31 May – Inflatables – £20 for the day
- Thursday 1 June – Trip Day – £27.50 for the day
- Friday 2 June – Team Challenges and Prizes – £20 for the day

13 – 17 Programme
The Wayz is offering activities over the May half term for 13 – 17-year-olds.
They are offering the following activities:
- Tuesday 30 May: 2 – 6pm – Woodwork, Cooking, Challenges and Youth Club Activities – FREE
- Wednesday 31 May: 8am – 5pm – Bournemouth Trip, Cooking, Challenges and Youth Club Activities – £5
- Thursday 1 June: 2 – 6pm – Graffiti, Cooking, Challenges and Youth Club Activities – FREE
- Friday 2 June: 2 – 6pm – General Sport, Cooking, Challenges and Youth Club Activities – FREE
All activities will include a FREE dinner. The sessions are located at The Zone, Great Hollands.

Other News / Up and Coming Events
Young people at The Wayz were visited by Vernon Harwood from BBC Radio Berkshire earlier this month. Vernon asked them their views on the Coronation and what it means to them. Their views will be aired on the radio station over the coming days.
A team of staff and young people from The Wayz will be taking part in the Bracknell Together Walk on 9 July, starting from South Hill Park. This helps The Wayz to raise money for our activities and also to have some fun.
The Wayz Community Fun Day is being planned and this will take place on Saturday 8 July on the field next to The Wayz. Preparation is underway for stalls and activities for this exciting event.
The Wayz are looking for new motivated, inspiring and committed people to join their team as youth workers and colunteers. Please email gareth@thewayzyouth.co.uk for further details.
