Tilehurst Parish Council Update
28 February 2022
Taking into account the youth survey carried out last year, asking young people what youth offer they wanted in the local area, the work at the Annex at The Calcot Centre is in full swing! Renovations have been taking place since the new year and the centre has recently been re-plastered and had a fresh coat of paint. Work is now starting on other exciting developments, including the fitting of a new kitchen.
Currently, the plan is for work to be finished in March, with the centre to be opened for a variety of youth and community groups delivering a range of activities. Tilehurst Parish Council are keeping the results of the youth survey in mind and will be looking to run the most popular activities first. There are still lots of decisions to be made for the centre – including its provision, its name and the days and times of the week to run the sessions and activities!
This really is exciting news for the young people in the area. It shows that, not only have they been listened to, but their ideas have also been taken on board and acted upon. Well done to Tilehurst Parish Council!
