Waterside – January 2023

30 January 2023

Thank you to Kelly, Youth and Community Manager, for this update!

We’ve got off to a great start at Waterside this term.

Young people were excited to come back to term-time after-school activities following the Christmas break and our sessions are thriving.

Our newest programme to celebrate is our partnership with Thames Valley ABC to provide women’s and girls’ boxing sessions on a Wednesday evening. The first session saw 18 participants join us, with a mix of young people and adults taking part.

Youth Café sessions have moved to a Tuesday evening since returning in the new year, and this has led to a fantastic opportunity to link up with Sport in Mind sessions that also take place at Waterside.

During the day, the centre plays host to new bookings including Pilates classes and wellbeing sessions.

Our friends from Project Band also held a weekend gathering and it was fantastic to see how much the group has developed since they were last here with us in the summer.
