Waterside – November 2022

30 November 2022

This autumn term, Waterside has got back into the rhythm of its term time programmes.

From the long-standing youth club paddling and climbing sessions, BoxWise and Sport in Mind sessions, to the additions of our Youth Café and Zen of Happiness sessions; Waterside is filled with opportunities.

Young people have been thrilled to meet our new youth workers, who have jumped at the chance to get stuck into all of our different projects, and we are grateful for the range of skills and experience that they are bringing to the team.

Our day to day partnerships are developing all the time, and this creates new offers to the community. The building is busier than ever, and the community has really begun to recognise Waterside Centre as a valuable space within the heart of the town.

Events have been a big part of our wider programme this term, including our visit from Floyd Steadman with BoxWise, the youth engagement event with West Berkshire Council, our Youth Music Nights with Berkshire Maestros (photo from Youth Music Night 26 November), Christmas lights switch on activities with Colline’s Kitchen and, of course, our official opening night where we finally got to celebrate the opening of the centre and celebrate what we have achieved over the first year.

Looking ahead, we are excited for the festive season and the joy it brings to the community. We will be offering evening activities for young people, and the café is all ‘a buzz’ with their seasonal menu ideas for the month of December.

As a team, we are also looking forward to the New Year and what 2023 will bring to Berkshire Youth and Waterside Centre.

Thanks, Kelly, for this brilliant update!
