CEO’s Thoughts (June 2023)

30 June 2023

And there was June… gone in a flash! What a busy month it has been!

In staff news, we are delighted to welcome Natalya to our West Berkshire team, as well as hearing Abbas and Karen’s reflections on their first anniversary at Berkshire Youth. There are more opportunities to join the team.

June has also seen the celebration of Carers Week, with Ed providing us with an update and the first Waterside Business Brunch. We were delighted to have Ewemove Newbury as our first ‘Friend of Berkshire Youth’. Read more here.

Conference season has begun and we were delighted to open the Youth In Mind Conference at the University of Reading on 27 June. A great day with a range of partners from statutory and voluntary sector, schools, commissioners and faith groups.

We will be back at Reading in a few weeks for the Commonwealth Conference hosted by NYA.

Our bigger Centres at The Wayz, Waterside and Britwell Youth and Community Project are all prepping for summer and some of the community-based provision such as Tilehurst have amazing projects and programmes planned.

Enjoy the sunshine and stay safe and well.

Sarah
