Tilehurst Parish Council Update

30 June 2022

The Tilehurst Art Club run by Berkshire Youth on behalf of Tilehurst Parish Council has now started in the newly refurbished Jubilee Annexe in Calcot, Reading. The sessions run from 7 -8.30pm every term time Tuesday (until 19 July). They are open to young people in school years 7 – 9, and the focus is very much on art-based activities, often suggested by the attendees themselves.

The multi-sport sessions at the Cotswold Sports Centre are now also in full swing and are enjoyed by young people in school years 7 – 9, 4.30-5.30pm on Thursdays. They were set up in response to requests from young people for more sporty activities to be made available after school. So far, sports covered include football, basketball, skittleball, dodgeball and ultimate frisbee. As with the art club, attendees are asked each week which activities they would like to do in the following sessions.

Tilehurst Parish Council would like to thank Cotswold Sports Centre for its continued support in setting up the sports sessions.

For further information or to sign up for the above sessions, please email Jessica Kirby. Note: a medical consent form must be filled in by a parent or guardian for each young person attending.

Volunteers are still needed to help run these and other youth sessions; anyone who would like to know more or to offer their time should please contact the Clerk to the Parish Council by emailing clerk@tilehurstpc.co.uk.
