Waterside Update

28 February 2022

There is so much happening at Waterside Centre!

There was a flurry of activity over half term, with a wide range of activities for young people to choose from: from litter picking and activity planning to boxing, from climbing to music sessions, it’s all on offer at Waterside!

Everyone was delighted to launch the new Music Lounge with a special event for talented young musicians at the centre last week. Berkshire Youth have teamed up with Berkshire Maestros and VoxThrive to open this new safe space for young people wanting to make, create and record music. Follow these links to hear more on Radio Berkshire (approx. 1:38.00 onwards) and Kennet Radio (move the slider to 06:54).

We also recently caught up with Sally and Lindsey, Centre Managers from Vox Fresh, to learn more about their offer at Waterside Centre.

What is the best thing about Vox Fresh?

“It is amazing to watch children form friendships, especially as they all come from different schools. It is great to watch them smile while having great fun, and to see them progressing while they are with us. They are all very proud of their own achievements.“

What are the benefits does Vox bring to waterside or the community?

“It is watching the children building confidence, but also it allows more of the public to know that Waterside Centre is there. It makes the building come alive!”

If you are interested in a free trial, please visit the Vox Fresh website.
