This August, we welcomed 812 young people to our newly-renovated youth and community centre as part of the Holiday Activities and Food Programme (read more here). They enjoyed the amazing, free activities on offer, as well as the free lunches, in an effort to ensure that no young people went hungry over the long summer holidays.

We are currently working hard to finalise the Waterside Centre’s offer over the coming months, including a youth club, an exciting programme of events and a safe space where local young people can go to make friends with others their age, as well as trusted adults.

The Waterside Centre boasts inspiring facilities, including a climbing wall, dance studio and water-based activities.

We are still calling for help from local individuals and organisations to help finance the Waterside Centre’s transformation. Further information here.

Kit out the Nation

The Waterside Centre is delighted to be supporting Kit out the Nation to help provide sports equipment to children and young people who need it to get more active.

If you have good condition sports kit that you don’t need, don’t want anymore or is simply lying around unused, you could make a real difference to a young person’s ability to access sport by donating this.

Donations can be dropped off at the Waterside Centre on Mondays – Wednesdays, 10.00am – 2.00pm.  If you would like to donate outside of these times, then please call us on 01635 018500 to arrange a convenient time.

For further information on Kit out the Nation please visit the BBC website here.
