Waterside Update – including Colline’s Kitchen
29 November 2021
Colline will be opening her café at Waterside Centre soon. We caught up with her to learn more about her plans.
Tell us a little bit about your background
I started Colline’s Kitchen in February 2019 after realising that I enjoy baking. My previous experience is in finance. I worked as an accountant for ten years and I have been running the business full time since June 2019.
You have won some awards! Please can you tell us more?
I won the Muddy Stilettos Best New Business award in 2019 and The Newbury Town Council Business Civic Award in 2021. This is for the work we did supporting families who were struggling during lockdown.
You are opening your café early next year (we can’t wait!) What will your hours be?
Tuesday – Saturday, 8.30am – 4.30pm. Please keep checking the Waterside Centre social media for more information!
What food will you be selling?
Toasties, loads of cakes and healthy salads… Prices will start from £2.50. We will make it affordable for all and make sure we cater for all special dietary requirements.
Do you have any events planned?
In the new year, we plan to run supper clubs that represent food from around the world and bring things like salsa events to Newbury.
Why are you excited to open up and why is Waterside Centre a good space?
I am excited to show Newbury this beautiful space and the different ways that it can be used. The view by the canal is like nowhere else in Newbury and we are looking forward to bring something different to the town.
You may have been one of the many visitors to Colline’s free Christmas cupcake and cookie decorating at Waterside Centre as part of the Newbury Christmas Lights Switch-On Festival.
There’s loads happening at Waterside Centre. Check out their page for their Christmas activities and more.
If you can help them by donating good quality Christmas decorations, please contact them:
