What We Do

Whether you are a young person wanting your voice to be heard; communities wanting to support young people as they reach for their potential as leaders of tomorrow or seeking to support vulnerable young people with their transition from childhood to adolescence; a business looking for ways to support the development of young people's health and well-being ... Berkshire Youth is excited to be working with you.

We work with a range of partners, including Parish Councils, to ensure the most hard to reach young people are able to access support and services when they most need them.

Berkshire's affluence belies areas of hidden urban and rural deprivation with very low levels of social mobility, where the needs of vulnerable young people are often overlooked.

We are focussing our work on those areas most challenged to engage.  The End Child Poverty in January 2018 show that 25% of children in Reading are living in poverty after housing costs, 30% in Slough and 15% in Bracknell and Newbury.  It is in these areas that our targeted work is focussed.

Take a look at the activities run by Berkshire Youth, find a club near you for regular weekly sessions or look at the training on offer for both staff and young people.

Berkshire Youth is following Government's best practice guidelines and we are discouraging informal, large meetings.  Where we can, Berkshire Youth teams will continue to support vulnerable and at risk young people for the foreseeable future.  If you need any support please contact us.
